I've dove the Socorros twice with Sea Escape, both early in the season..early and late December, and the water was still warm..above 80. I've understood early in the season is the best chance for a whale shark..although the Socorro's aren't particularly known for them (did see one my first trip)..as to the other posts as to the best time of year for hammerheads, etc., many of which seem to be later in the season, I can say I saw large schools of hammerheads, had many dive with dolphins, oceanic mantas, etc. both times I went that were not at the "prime" times listed. As far as my experience, I enjoyed the Socorros far more than the Galapagos.
