Just a short note and introduction to the group for a newly certified dive shop to teach Handicap Diving.

AquaTech Scuba of Maple Shade, NJ is now certified thru the Handicap Scuba Association to teach individuals with handicaps the sport of diving.

Gil Yeager and I took the HSA Instructor Course just this past weekend with a goal of specifically working with handicap veterans in the Philadelphia and NJ areas. I must admit I had my eyes opened quite a bit to the possibilities that our waters present both in adversity and rewards for people with disabilities. I for one found the course to be extremely informative and eye-opening.

This was really a challening and rewarding course on a bunch of different levels.

Welcome to the world of adaptive scuba. A fun afternoon is a beach dive in 10-15 feet of visibility and calm seas. A terrific afternnon is the same beach dive with a great dive partner who is a fish, and who happens to be an incomplete quadrapligic.

There are people in your area who want to get involved. If I hunt around I will find their name and forward it on to you. Our organization is up and running teaching disabled veterans at the VA Hospital in Long Beach CA and West Los Angeles Disabled Veterans SCUBA Project > Home
