Did anyone notice that the manifold they are diving is a J-valve manifold that does not have a isolator valve?

I was talking to an E7 who was in charge of the Navy Dive Display at the Miramar Air Show. He was telling me how they dive what is called a Con18 regulator and that they will never change really due to how simple it is to maintain it.
