HI

I would like to see the squid mating in Zeeland. I think it is about the 15 april, can someone comfirm that?
Do you know what will be the water temperature at this time?
Thank you.

The sepia run usually starts when the water temperatures reach about 12C. That usually happens around the end of April and the mating season peaks in the middle of May. Eggs hatch 8 weeks later.

Having said that, the water temps are already a few degrees above normal for this time of the year so I'd wager that the Sepia run will start a week or two earlier this year.

You'll see squid as well as cuttlefish but on balance you'll see a lot more cuttlefish. Cuttlefish watching can be done day or night. I've found that squid watching is better at night.
