Hi. I came across the island of Stromboli and its continuing volcanic activity in a book and was curious about tourism for that alone - but being a scuba diver of course any travel I do has to have scuba involved too.

Has anyone here dove the Aeolian islands, and/or do any of our European members live near who could offer advice? From a brief internet search it seems to be a frequent spot at least in August during the major holiday period - is it divable and pleasant to visit at other times of the year (say December - February) for someone who prefers to avoid the crowds?

A search of the forums only found two hits for Stromboli - and one of those was the food.

Rgds,
