I just wanted to drop a quick note regarding a new publication by Jim Lapenta; SCUBA:A Practical Guide for the New Diver.

Disclaimer: I haven't read much outside of this ScubaBoard, so I don't have much to compare this book with, but I found his book, which is really more of a manual, to be very helpful.

Jim was able to put into words, skills that my instructors were demonstrating. Skills, such as bouyancy control, were described in terms that made sense. When I got into the pool, and eventually the lake, things began to come together more quickly. It really made a big difference in my training and cert dives.

Thanks Jim!
