I just completed my first regulator service. My SP MK5 now has all new O-rings and a HP seat. I pressurized it hooked up to my IP gauge and then closed the tank valve and left if overnight. IP is a steady 140 PSI!!

Thanks to all of you that provided advice and assistance.

I'm amazed how simple the MK5 really is, but I can't image how you'd go about machining one out of a block of brass.
 
+1, just rebuilt mine too, very simple. But not as simple as a MK25.

It's funny; the MK5 is simpler in the sense that are fewer parts, but more difficult in the sense that you need to take great care when removing the old HP piston o-ring.

Congrats to both. Working on your own regulator is fun and solves one of the biggest issues in the scuba industry IMO.
