Proceeds benefit Teen Research Underwater Explorers (TRUE Dive Team)
The Teen Research Underwater Explorers (T.R.U.E . Dive Team) is a 501(c)3, non-profit volunteer organization that was founded in 2010 to teach young men and women about the ocean, using hands-on underwater marine science. These young men and women also take what they learn and use it to work with and mentor Gold Star Kids (GSK) and Kids of Wounded Veterans. These hands-on experiences are designed to promote science, active stewardship, conservation of our oceans and coasts, while also building leadership skills, character skills and learning to appreciate the sacrifice and service that our Veterans and their families have made.
The MISSION of T.R.U.E. is to use marine science and SCUBA diving to develop leadership and character skills of young adults ages 12-18 that are trying to find a way to give back for future generations.
The VISION of T.R.U.E. is to help the Explorers learn about the marine environment, but more importantly, about themselves. Each Explorer is part of a team and, over time, acquires greater responsibilities within that team and the organization. As the Explorers responsibilities grow, so does their leadership and character skills.
Explorers are led by a group of adult volunteers with diverse backgrounds. (See Organization HQ and Tampa Bay Unit). Because of this diversity, T.R.U.E. can mentor the Explorers in a variety of different avenues.
Tickets are available without a donation. However, they cannot be ordered through the PayPal Online Donation tool. Interested parties must send a self addressed stamped envelope to:
