Hi all! Has anyone had this issue or heard of it?
I had my Suunto d4i for a few years now, the dive history shows about 150hours and 200 dives, but my dive log is only showing my last 60 dives. What happened to all my previous dives? I thought it was not possible to erase dives from the dive log but most of my dives have disappeared. Even when I download the data, it would still show the last 60 dives. I’ve contacted Suunto customer service but they couldn’t answer, they just told me to send it out for a service. I appreciate your comments, cheers!

I’m not real familiar with the Suunto, but that sounds like fairly typical behavior. Most dive computers have a limited amount of memory. When that memory is full, it begins to overwrite the oldest in the log. Dive time and count would still reflect true history. You just wouldn’t be able to see the details of the oldest, as they’ve been overwritten by the newer dives.

What surprises me is that Suunto didn’t have an answer.

Read the manual. It only records the last 50 hours or so in the log. After that it purges the oldest dive to make room for new dive. Total dive count & dive hours remain. On some, the dive number resets after 1000 dives
