Is there any public swimming pool around Los Angeles area that I can use to test scuba diving gear ?

Not that I know. The only pools that I could think of are those at some sport chalet shops, Pacific Wilderness (San Pedro) and that are used for scuba classes....but I don't know if you can actually test equipment...

Gordie at Laguna Sea Sports would probalby let you use his pool ... it's just above Shaw's Cove.

Some of the public and private pools allow scuba gear when you're with an instructor (insurance), and you usually still have to sign a liability waiver.

Liburdi's in Costa Mesa let me use theirs to try out my camera when I first got it, but I had been in there a time or two and done a little bit of business with them.

Good luck.
