That is why I bought a separate dvd player and set it on the English system and leave it there. $40 wasn't all that much. I have other dive dvd's in that format and use it for them too. Just my solution to the problem. The Cousteau dvds were only available on the UK system and I wanted them bad enough.

Europe uses a different video format. They won't play on an America player.

I've gotten around this by installing a 2nd dvd drive in a computer and setting that drive to PAL.
There are also some dvd players that can do both.
