First, mbwilliamn, thank you for bringing this thread back to the fore. I'd have never seen it otherwise. There is a lot of valuable concepts and thoughts in it, and I'm better for reading it. These thanks also go out to all that contributed to the thread, thereby enriching my knowledge.

No, seriously ... when I'm settled we'll set something up for a week or so here in Hawaii.

I hope you're settled by now, and I'll need to work out a vacation to Hawaii for your targeted training. I haven't done any real training in over a decade as I haven't seen any courses (and few instructors) worth the money, time, and effort. While I'm extremely comfortable underwater, there's always room for improvement.
