Government can impose a 37.5% price hike at its will and there's little that can be done, even at the ballot box. RedBox just did a 25% increase but I can vote with my feet for their services.
I've discovered that the Commonwealth is rightly named "Taxachusetts." I pay hefty property taxes at the North Shore mildly using any government services + I recently bought a new car and was charged a good excise tax. Didn't even know about that one. And yes - I noticed Redbox was up too.
Aside from my griping - there has been no increase in the lobster permit for 25 years which is a long time. I can live with that since I do not eat lobster.
