Divers in Tobermory on the Victoia Day Holiday "May24" were greated with good weather and water visibilty 100 to 200 feet. Possibly as clear as water can get. Will these conditions set a trend for the season? If so it will be difficult to find charter space and a place to stay.

We dove forest city and arabia on that day it was amazing the water was so clear and blue that it felt that we were diving in the ocean. The boiler of the forest city could be seen from the bow remainings. The stern of arabia could be seen from the bow.

We dove in Toby this last weekend. Did two dives on the Niagara II on Saturday. Viz was good, could see the wheelhouse and deck from just underneath the surface, but it was a chilly 37. (Thermocline starts at about 3 feet...) Dove the Arabia and Niagara yesterday under sunny blue skies. Viz was excellent on the Arabia, could see the wreck clearly from the main line and also could see the stern from the bow. Temp on the Arabia was a balmy 43. Did the second dive on the Niagara II - viz was still good and temp was still 37. Finished off with a shore dive at the Tugs. Great viz and temp was 45.

Toby itself was very quiet, even with the Memorial Day long weekend. Only saw one other boat with two divers on the Niagara on Saturday, other than that we had the wrecks to ourselves. Also no waiting for a table at the restaurants. Crowsnest pub is still at least a few weeks from being ready for business.

Safe diving everyone.

Sweet, the viz this time of year is great. Seeing the stern from the bow on the Arabia is a thing of beauty.

Viz in Brockville in the St Lawrence was 15-20 ft on the May 2-4 weekend, but this weekend we're diving the Dunderberg in Lake Huron, so I hope the stellar viz continues!
