I'm am trying to get to Bonaire from Aruba and can't find any decent airfare. Does anyone know of an inexpensive means of transport between the two?

Update: I did find DAE (Dutch Antilles Express) but that is about $400 r/t AUA-CUR-BON

Did you actually call them? That sounds incredibly expensive. I paid $200 in August for the same round trip with DAE.

Rick,

We usually use Tiara Air. It is a direct flight, but you are limited either to the 11.15 am flight Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun or the 7:00 pm on Fri and Sun. The return flights to Aruba leave Mon, Wed, Fri & Sun & 12.25 and again at 8:15 pm. The last time we flew the cost was around $185.00 pp round trip direct.

Tiara Air is a good option if you are flying in on Fri or Sun, and any of the other days including Fri, Sun if your return to the states from Aruba is after 3pm or so. This flight takes about 40 minutes.

DAE, is another option, but they do have about a 20 - 30 minute layover in Curacao with every flight. This flight takes about 1 hr. 15 minutes.

Another option (but you would have to lay over in Aruba is Insel Air (Insel Air), but they only fly Aruba to Bonaire via Curacao on Fridays. I think this will change the beginning of next year as there are plans for them to increase their flights to Bonaire.

Hope this helps.

Liz

Thanks for the info! I think Bonaire might actually be doable because of this. I can get into Aruba for about $60 from LAX using air miles. Not bad all the way around. :snorkels:
