It is all that! I would not drive it at night. What is funny is that it is a Federal Highway. You can take the old road from Cancun to Valladolid, but it is in the same shape as the Tulum/Coba road. The only easy way to get to CI from either PDC or Cozumel is to fly.

If it were up to me, I would take the Yucatrek tour from PDC rather than renting a car and driving or shelling out the bucks to fly there.
