Does anybody know about helium availability? If any then what is respective price? I would assume it may be very significant.

Personnaly I could never see the point in staying on the Thorfin. It very rarely moves and you have to get to the dive site by a tender. Dont see the point, may as well go land based and save a buck. The Odyssey sits over each wreck for the duration (or in the case of the deep dives we did repeats on like the San Fran all day) that meant divers can go down at their own time. Cool at times to be the only diver(s) down on some of these wrecks.

This is one of the main reasons I chose the never more than 6 divers on a site.. Plus I called them (it is expensive from the states) and spoke to the captain about his policies and what wrecks we would dive.. He basically said if he had to put me on the wreck with just a guide he would...

emailed the odyssey and they said strictly, you will be limited by the group you are with.. If you want choice you have to reserve the boat for a private group charter..

Land based ops you'll never get 5 dives a day in.. using tenders you are usually 15 min max to hitting the water.. I did have one ride that was about 30 minutes because myself and another diver wanted to do a different wreck from the area we anchored..

Even though the boat was pretty booked, I usually only had 2 other divers with me.. one day had 3 others.. we did the wrecks we wanted.. all were experienced divers..
The thorfinn runs 4 tenders..
Having a private shower and head was also very nice ( the cabins down stairs have this)

Since I was starting the day with the deeper stuff I was only doing 4 dives a day... (no chance of doing this from a land based op)
