Tubular webbing that came with wing

Probably a dumb question, but: my 30# wing just arrived and the box included two short lengths of 1" tubular webbing. What is the intended use of this webbing?
 
To prevent your webbing from rubbing in the slots of the backplate I think.

How does that work? The 1" tubular webbing certainly won't fit around my 2" harness webbing, but maybe I'm confused about how it's supposed to be used.
 
Mystery solved - it's actually for the Eddy fins (which were in the same package). It's for people who like to take the rubber grips off the spring straps - you can cover the exposed spring with the webbing.
