The Underwater Council of British Columbia has been revived and is hoping to gain more members and take a more active role in the BC diving community. Among other projects, the UCBC has installed and maintained public mooring buoys at dive sites in Howe Sound since 1997.

Have a look at the new website: underwatercouncilbc.com

Of particular interest are the fatality reports that have been compiled over the years. They make for interesting reading and can be excellent learning tools.

Thanks for reading,
Scott

As president of the Alberta Underwater Council and on behalf of those of us that consider west coast diving as local, just with a 12 hour drive, I would like to extend a welcome to the reviving of the UCBC. Thanks for picking up the torch.

Thanks for the warm welcome. Perhaps we can get together for an underwater business meeting next time you're in town!

We are planning on being at the next Divers Weekend at the Aquarium next January as we usually get a booth there every 2nd year and we are due. Perhaps then.
