I've been using my original Divemaster software (ver 1.6) since I had my first Vyper. I just downloaded the new version, DM5, and am trying to figure out if it's possible to import my old logbook.

DM 1.6 saves as "sdl" file format or exports to "CVS." DM5 doesn't list either as an option on the IMPORT menu.

Any options or will I have to start a new logbook if I switch to the newer software version? Thanks...

I D/L'ed Subsurface 4.2. It will import the CVS file, but there are a lot of options in the D/L module - I was looking for an idiot-proof solution that was point-n-click. Does Subsurface have a tutorial or some documentation explaining what all the options mean?

There is a manual on the website: subsurface-divelog.org/documentation/subsurface-4-0-user-manual-2/

Can't paste links from my phone :(
