Hi there. Just finished cleaning and rebuilding a US Divers second stage octopus. Pretty straight forward, clean and breathes just right. Only thing is, on exhalation, the octo honks like a Canadian goose. What causes it and how can I make it go away? All suggestions welcome. Thanks.

Well, it turned out to be the diaphragm. It looks works fine, but I changed it out with another one and the noise went away. Works like a champ now.

Those Canadian goose honks usually stop just as soon as you jump in the water and the regulator gets wet.

Cheers

Andrew

Yea, honking is not uncommon. Nothing really "wrong", it stops when under water. Changing the diaphragm can often times stop it but IMO it's not worth the cost just to stop the noise.
