I thought I'd post a quick trip report. All of the suggestions from the people on this board were very helpful for the trip, and my wife and I had a great time.
We stayed at the Sandy Bay Beach house apartment which was great. It was right on the beach and the nice winds kept the sand flies and mosquitoes away. We dove with Deep Blue Divers and the reefs were good. The best part was seeing the whale sharks. They were huge and just an awesome sight in the water. I couldn't get enough and the last day we went out on a small boat and did whale shark snorkeling only.
Other than the diving/snorkeling, Utila was a fun town and we'll definitely be back.
