UWATEC Aladin Air 2 and Aladin Nitrox Z with transmitter-is one better then the other for a basic wrist mount computer? Do you recommend buying them used? Thanks!

If I remember correctly the Air 2 is not nitrox where as the Z is. I used the later for quite some time and liked it. Today it is considered a basic computer. Simple to read and easy to use. It can be worth it if you find the Z in good condition with recent battery change for less than $200.00. To change the battery you must take the computer to a Scubapro dealer and they in turn send it to Scubapro. Cost is around $110-$120.

I would not recommend them due to their onerous battery change procedure. if you are going to look at used dive computers, look for something from PPS (oceanic/hollis/aeris/sherwood/tusa) instead.

Thanks for your replies. I almost got burned buying a non user replaceable battery computer. Note: On the older Aladin's, Scubapro / Uwatec told me that the the tank pressure transmitter batteries are not serviceable. They said I'd need to buy a new transmitter at $370+ !! Also, are ALL 2015ish and later computers and tank transmitter batteries user replaceable?
