After months and months of delays I have officialy started my DM training. I got my PADI Member number, and have two test down. I have my first official class assist this weekend and I can't wait! I don't think I've been this excited over a class since my open water.

Gratz GeekDiver! I am doing my DM classes right now. We are still doing a lot of book work and haven't done the skills or taken any tests yet. I can't wait till I can start helping with students, but I also know that I need to work on a few things first. Have fun with the class assist. I would wish you luck, but I know that if your instructor is anything like the one I have, luck is no part of it. :dazzler1:

Congratulations! DM'ing is great. You will love the benefits of diving and learning at the same time. Have a great time, your students depend on it.

Congrats! DM'ing is extremely fun!

I only have a couple more presentation to give for my NAUI Instructor card, but I can for-see myself continuing to DM in addition to teaching.

I still think Rescue class was my favorite class, but the only thing better than taking Rescue Class, is DM'ing Rescue Class.

Imagine getting to see all those Rescue Scenario's performed again and again and again by different people in different ways. You learn so much. I love it!

Congrats, Geek! DM'ing is one of the most fun things in diving. Seeing the students learning, those light bulbs going off, and knowing you're a big part of it.

Have a blast!

Best wishes Geek,

Have fun with your training. It's a challenge and very enjoyable.

Really, if you guys think DM is so much fun, maybe I should try it. Just not sure who I will handle to 500 year old lady who can't get trough the surf zone????

Well...if you're handling 500 year old ladies, or men, a surf zone is the least of your problems. This is Texas and there's no shore diving being done on the shores in our area. You're in San Diego so maybe the age of the divers and shore conditions are way different!

Yes!!!

Geek - Keep working on it & Keep your eyes open - I have a new & more interesting time everytime I DM a class. Although I've just passed the ITC - I intend to keep my hand on the assist side also.

All the best
