ny_diver:Looking to dive the GBR late March - April. Does anyone know the water temp around that time of the year and is wet-suit needed?
Thanks.
caymaniac:I was last there in June and July which is of course in the southern hemisphere winter. The water temp. was about 82F in the Coral Sea at Osprey as we traveled south towards Port Douglas on the GBR Ribbons it was 77F. It would probably be abit warmer in Mar. Apr.

Albion:What thickness suit were you wearing?
I am going there in early May and understand it will be around 77F, i normally dive in 84F water and if it wasnt for stingy things I wouldnt wear a suit. I was planning on using my 3mm plus a vest with hood, is that good enough?
