Sport Chalet rents wetsuits. You could be diving tomorrow night.

For lobster you need:
1. Freshwater/Ocean Fishing License (issued on calendar years so you need a new one on January 1st). $32.80 per year. Lobster season runs from roughly from Saturday preceeding the First Wednesday of October to the First Wednesday after the 15th of March. Natually that means you will have to buy a new license in January.
2. Ocean Enhancement Stamp if fishing or lobster hunting south of Point Arguello (in Santa Barbara County). $3.70
3. Lobster Gauge for California (3 ¼ inch minimum caprice measurement)
4. Lobster Bag to put them in.
5. Read the DFG book on how to measure and the rules. Note fishing regulation can and do change during the season. DFG issues changes via their webpage http://www.dfg.ca.gov/mrd/
You may only use your hands to catch lobsters or hoopnets. No tools or tickle sticks allowed.
Limit is 7 in your possession (bag+boat+car+home<=7)
