I completed the SDI Rescue Diver course a couple weeks ago (yeah!), we dove at West Lake Okoboji, IA. My husband and I arrived the day prior and did one dive on our own. We were able to locate the Milford Tower by following a pipeline out to it. Saw a few bluegill and bass hanging out. My husband found a nice mask on this dive! The rest of the diving was at Terrace Beach. Water temps averaged 71, I was comfortable in a 7/5 Henderson Hyperstretch with a hood with a trilam suit underneath (I'm a WWW, get cold easily, and we were in and out of the water for 6 hours). Visibility ranged from approximately 5-8 ft. Would like to dive this area in the spring when visibility is better.

We bought a dive buoy from Blue Water Divers at Arnold's Park. They were very helpful, gave great directions to the dive sites and navigation info. In the summer they do some boat dives on the lake, however I think they use it a lot for those going through courses. We didn't take any pictures, but I found one of the Milford Tower by searching on Google.
