Regardless of water temps, it's a good idea to wear at least some thermal layer when diving. As you know, water will pull the heat out of you at 25 times the rate of air, and you will see a diference in fatigue. A 2 or 3 mil should be fine, and then,, like the others have said, a little protection never hurts!

Thanks for all the info. You guys are great! Now all I need to do is find the right suit. That is tough for a big guy like me. 6'4" 240lbs.

Scubatoys has reasonably priced Bare suits. Call them and tell them you are a Scubaboard member, and your height and weight. They will set you up, and its guaranteed.
