Not sure if too late, however can recommend diving in Sicily, especially Capo san Vito... great diving in Reserve of Zingaro... wreck of WWII boat. Also Ustica = fabulous diving for caves & sea life.
Can recommend further up country to Campagnia... Palinuro - excellent caves, Gulf of Naples and best of all - island of Ponza, wreck, caves and sea life.
