My gear,

A couple of sets of regs, a couple of masks, a couple of lights, a couple of knives, a couple of reels, a couple of sheers, a couple of wet suits, a couple of dry suits, a couple sets of fins, a couple sets of steel ponies, a couple of sets of dbls,a couple of sets of AL ponies, some more AL 80s, some O2 for emergencies, some u/w still cameras, some u/w videos cameras along with their homes, a few computers, a whole bunch of bottom timers, lots of slates & extra goodies, lots of gloves and some hoods, a few spear guns, couple of gear bags & goodie bags, a few tickle sticks, a few back plates, a few sets of wings, a few wives,
and I cannot remember anything else on the grounds that this list can be used against me in a divorce hearing…

I am not certified yet but will be very soon. Being a newbie to scuba Im naturally overwhelmed by all the options in gear which are soon to confront me. In trying to get a good idea what gear I should consider, I went thru this thread to determine which gear appears to the most popular. My theory is that if experienced divers such as yourself are using this stuff, I cant go too wrong by following in your footsteps.......right???

Now this isnt scientific or anything. I didnt actually count up who had what, but based on a quick scan and taking notes, I came up with what appeared to be the most common items I saw. This will most likely be the items which will make up my list of gear.

MASKS - Tusa Liberator
FINS - Mares Volo or Quattro or Tusa Imprex
COMPUTER - Suunto
REGULATOR - Apex TX-50 or Marez MR-12
OCTO - APEX TX-40
WETSUIT - 3mm O'neill, Body Glove, Mares, or Liquid Fit (full & shorty)
BC - Still trying to decide?
TANK - ???Single 80 w/ neutral buoyancy
BAG - Akona Deluxe Duffel
BOOTS - ?
SNORKEL - ?

I didnt include the little things like knives, flashlights, etc. I know they are important, but not my biggest concern at the moment.

What do ya'll think? Does this sound like a pretty good start for a new diver?
