I like my Mantas the best! Will make an offer on your Jr. if you decide to trade it in on some other brand.

Oh boy, already a pile of different opinions. Guess I'll wait a while to see which reel comes out with the most support. I've got some cheap brand x reel (says "Saekodive") that I'd love to swap out.

Need more reviews!

I'll give my vote to www.reefscuba.com

My vote goes to reef scuba reels also. You can remove the spool underwater to unjam it (I've done it a couple of times) and they have FREE yearly service... for life. Just send it back to them and they replace anything that needs replacing, steam clean it, and send it back to you. I did it once so far and the service was great! Its like a I have a new reel.

My vote goes to Ralph Hood (Underwater Connections).

Halcyon. Halcyon. And oh yeah, Halcyon. Their reels are unbeatable IMO - I wouldn’t own anything else for a primary or larger. I also have one of their finger spools as my safety. For jump/gap, I think I’d probably go with Dive-Rite.

Oh yeah, I’m not DIR, and I’m still evangelizing for Halcyon reels. They’re just that good.

I use a hand held alm. Trident 140' reel with tension knob and screw stop//spring clip and carbineer, general all purpose jobber.
