I'm looking to purchase a pair of shears as a backup to my knife for diving. I need a pair that has a sheath that can be mounted on 2" webbing, and have large enough finger holes to use with 5mm gloves. Suggestions?

I have a pair of Sea-Snips and the only complaint I have is that the rivet that holds the two halves together is not stainless steel and it tends to rust very quickly when exposed to salt water. I guess stainless steel is not hard enough to be used as a rivet. I clean the snips after every dive day with gun cleaning oil and it no longer tends to rust.

Sea-Snips come with sheath designed for belt mounting. I used a piece of 1” wide hook and loop strap (Velcro P/N 94905K113 from http://www.mcmaster.com/ $4.20 for a 5 foot section) to attach the sheath to my BC shoulder strap, works great.

OMS makes a set that are like gardners pruning shears, seriously heavy duty. I got mine from leisurepro. Quality seems excellent.

Both Zeagle and OMS are making some nice shears. Sea snips and others as well.

You can get them online for less than 15$.

I have the Mares Shears and they are pretty decent. I got them from Diveinn.

Try www.galls.com they don't have the holsters but they have inexpensive shears.
