Where to dive in So Cal?

Can someone recomend some good dive sites I will be staying in the Los Angeles area and while I will just have my certifications done I will want to get in an extra day diving if possible. I will also be going as far south as San Diego so just about anything in between would be good.

SAN DIEGO --

Thre are some SD locals on this board who can provide more details, but San Diego has some great wreck diving just off shore, most notable the Yukon, a Canadian Navy Destroyer sunk as an artificial reef.

You have a lot of different options in So Cal. Boat dives, beach dives or even a day trip to my favorite place, Catalina.

I'm diving off of the SPECTRE next week. It is a 3/4 day trip (real easy for me to make at a short notice), and departs from Ventura. We will be heading for diving around the island of Anacapa. Very convenient for central and southern Californians.

Of the SoCal dive boat fleet my favorites are Blue Escape and the Horizon / Ocean Odyssey
