I am looking for housings for both a pentax Optio S digital camera, and also for a video cam Canon Elura 80. I saw Ikelite's for about $650 plus for the video housing, but not a lot of info on the net and reviews. Any other recomnendations, or sites I could find more housing options?

Thanks,

Gui

Digideep is a great place to start for figuring exactly what brand and type of housings will fit your camera/videocamera.

After that i'd check Amazon, Ebay and a few other online websites to see where I could source it.

As for the video camera..
According to digideep Ikelite is the only manufacturer of a housing to fit it :(.

According to this they're no housings available for that camera. But the information could be inaccurate here..

I don't think digideep is being kept up like it used to be. Since your camcorder doesn't have a LANC port,(does it?) there's no sense in looking at housings with electronic controls.

Your camcorder should fit in an Equinox Pro-Pak 6. Another less expensive option would be Atmo-Seal but they only offer a mechanical pause control. I'm guessing Aquavideo also makes one, they list one for the Elura70. And there's the Ikelite.

Except for the Atmo-Seal, all the others have a fuller manual control set(more knobs and levers) so I'd consider them first. There's also several inexpensive $150-299 tube style housings selling periodically on eBay, they're just seal and go though, the camera runs the entire time it's in the housing and you edit the footage later.

I've seen a lot of old junk on eBay so unless you know what you're looking for, ask someone who does. fyi, the only Ikelite housing that will have the right controls for your camcorder is model #6061, even though most of them use the same outer case.
