I'd like to know as well.
The Dive Rite mask with gauge readers look good, but they are expensive.
The mask is about $59, but the lenses installed are like an additional $110 = $160 or $170 I believe.
Are there other solutions that are just as solid?

Scuba Optics does gauge readers as well, but not really any cheaper. If that is all you need
you could try Dive Optix for about $40. They are a pliable bifocal that you place where you want
and come in strengths up to +3.00.

Wal-Mart optical center. I see their samples all the time and have talked to the tech's. They will do most masks. Personally I have not tried them.

Can you wear contacts?
I got a script for bifocal contacts. I wear them when diving, and I was amazed that I didn't have to close one eye, squint really hard and try to pull the computer as far as I could away from me to see...
I saw so much on my first dive, that I forgot to take the pictures. I just kept getting in closer to everything. When I did take a picture, I was surprised that I could tell if it was good or bad right there under water :grin
The cost per set of bifocals is just under $10.00 per set (L/R)

No, you're eyes will focus in the correct area for viewing automatically.
