In March, we are going on the Nekton (Belize southern itinerary).
But some of us are flying one day early and are planning to stay in Belize city.
Any recommendation on Hotels and stuff to see.
Are there dive operator in Belize City for a 2 tank dive day trip or is it possible to shore dive?'
Any info would be great.
Thanks,
OP

Ask the STARS agency that you booked the Nekton to handle this. Stay at the hotel that the Agressor takes off from (The NEKTON uses the Govt Pier, some 5 miles WSW of there) and NEKTON parks the arrival guests at that hotel while the crew cleans the NEKTON. You'll be right in line to join your fellow divers when they roll thru on Saturday.

This is the classiest hotel, it serves the US Embassy, great pool, bar, etc. The day boats take off from here as well. Shore diving is nonexistant from Belize City.

Other than shopping at the modern grocery store on the main drag to the airport, there's little to see or do other than going to the Zoo. The rest can be a bit dodgy.
