A couple of the previous posts mentioned very slow final ascents. From what I've read on the site, it seems like slower is better.

Suppose I make a Marrioni-style ascent as just described. Is there a benefit in principle to making the final ascent as slow as possible? How about a standard OW ascent with safety stop (no deep stop)?

Please ignore my previous two posts, one on Marrioni-style ascents, and the other on ascent rates. I've started new threads for them, and I can't seem to modify or delete them now.
