I recently bought these two suits, and was wondering - which one is supposed to be worn underneath and which on the outside? Does vest w/ hood go on the inside, or does the main suit? I can think of pros and cons for each...

I would wear the "shorty" on the outside.

Having the seams from the shorty pressed into your legs from the full suit would probably kill.

I have that set, wear the shorty on the outside. The arm opening seals will keep infiltration to a minimum. It's a toasy rig.

Lately I have been using that full suit with my bare 3/5 hodded vest under it an I've been conmfortable on shore dives into the upper 40sF

I see that they bumped the hood up to a full 7mm, sweet. They did eliminate the collar bib but with the skin neck you suit collar will close nicely.
