Has anyone had any experience with the Mares XR wings ripping? Will Mares replace? Noticed mine was ripped after about 50 dives.

Hi, I joined just to respond. BOTH of mine have ripped in the same way yours has (along the seam). The blue has actually ripped in 2 spots. The retailer spoke to mares who said they would not repair it as they do not have these materials anymore and also they are a few months out of warranty. I have gone to Mares directly to see what they can do given that these have only done 20 dives each thanks to the pandemic

Just confirmed Mares will replace both for us
I got mine replaced under warranty after involving the retailer (Dive Gear Express in my case). No traction on my own with emails.

The same has happened with mine! Its really put me off Mares and I think a new wing is called for.
This has happened to mine too. Mares will "repair" is the word from the store although I hope it's actually a replace. I wouldn't feel comfortable with a botch job!

Just joined the club after some 30 dives.
All the wings mentioned in the thread are *not* normal tear nor wear, it is a problem of stitching with very small borders, thus when there is some strain it frays the cordura fabric.
It happened also on my Mares XR harness pocket after a couple of dives with nothing inside other than a small key.
It has also happened to me a few years ago on one Halcyon eclipse wing, I had to ship it back to the US and got back a replacement, the whole round trip took a couple of months.
Edit: just returned from the shop, they replaced the shell, no questions asked
