Apparently I have the VT3 that came out BEFORE they started coming with uplink cables. So at this point I have no cable, does it use the same cable as the VT pro?
Will the VT Pro USB cable work w/ VT3?

No it won't, there are 3 different cables:
04.9600 USB for the PP2, VT PRO, VERSA, VEO
04.9604 USB for the VT3 and VEO
04.9610 USB for GEO/ ATOM 2.0
04.9600 USB for the PP2, VT PRO, VERSA, VEO
04.9604 USB for the VT3 and VEO
04.9610 USB for GEO/ ATOM 2.0
