We did have a GWS take a sea lion just outside the dive park last June and another one was seen doing the same thing off our East End.
That is true, we do have another way of knowing the Landlord is around and that is sea lion behavior and well bloody sea lions.

This one was found on the jetty rocks in Monterey. One of California's most dove areas, and right where a large portion of the open water classes take place. A headless sea lion washed up a year or two ago at the Breakwater.
