Hi everyone,

I've been meaning to post this for a while. For the past few years, I've been involved with a 'grass roots' effort initiated by some friends of mine. They have organized a group of people, including doctors, nurses, dentists, engineers, and all sorts of other folks to improve the quality of life to the people of the Marovo Lagoon, in the Solomon Islands. They go twice a year, and provide basic medical care and basic dentistry (extractions, etc) to the locals who have very limited access to medical care. In addition, they've raised money and have done great things for the local 'clinic', including solar panels, screens, fans, mattresses, etc.

When we go, we lodge at Uepi Island resort, a fantastic dive destination for divers around the world. In our free time, we do some truly incredible diving!

Last november, a videographer created a documentary of the experience, and it was nominated for an Emmy in the documentary category.

If anyone might be interested in participating, check out their website at http://marovomedical.org

Feel free to email me if you have any questions or may be interested in participating!

Best,
JT

I'm going with the group in November! Do you have a link to the documentary?
