I'm a Fish!
[h=2]I'm trying to plan a wreck diving trip on the east coast. We have a boat docked in Ft. Lauderdale and want to go down the coast and see some wrecks. Anybody have GPS or any other information that would be helpful. Which wrecks are worth diving, best for spear fishing etc. All divers are advanced and nitrox certified. I would appreciate it. The boat is capable of being out for days as well.[/h]

Weather is hit or miss at this time. Look online for gps. You'll want the resor, great Isaac, Delaware, Toltec, Maurice Tracy. Pm me if you need details of those or any others.

I'm not to familiar with what are the best wrecks to dive on that coast. Which ones are the best?

East coast is different from Gulf side. Bottom Temps and gulf stream can change fish patterns every day. Lately due to all the rough weather, none of the wreck sites are getting hit hard. But Grouper season closes at the end of December for east coast. The run to the reefs is just minutes not hours like the gulf side. That also means the fish are nothing like gulf side either.

Local captain knowledge is best for what's happening on a day to day report due to bottom temp changes(ie fish). Some of the best wrecks are the Rodeo, Capt Dan, & Ancient Mariner, all popular too. But the backsides of reefs can really pull out some better results also.

P.S. Make sure you pull a flag, that area is very strict and they'll write you up.

I like Tenneco Towers, Miracle of Life, RSB-1, Captain Dan, as well as all the normal Ancient Marnier, Berry Patch, and Sea Emperor. I love S.E. Florida we have so many wrecks to offer it is a divers playground.

How about USCG Cutter Duane, SS Copenhagen, Lofthus, Half Moon, USS Alligator. These are some I found on a site about wrecks. Are they any good.
