Over there everyone is talking about some filthy, degrating things some **** will do with a banana and whip cream. ... and one girl was even showing her boobs to everyone, by the way, the one that the gathering is named after.

Jesus, maybe I should get to the event earlier and stay later... :D

Speaking of which, Stater Bros. has Tri-Tip on sale for $2.97/lb this week. If anyone wants to buy one I'll make my signature rub and we can have it on the grill :)

I was just over at the new board Dive Matrix. This gathering was posted there too. Over there everyone is talking about some filthy, degrating things some **** will do with a banana and whip cream. What kind of way is this to promote an event for the dive community and say it is a family gathering? I for one, and I do know others, will not attend because of this kind of behavior. I was at one of these smut gatherings in the past, and one girl was even showing her boobs to everyone, by the way, the one that the gathering is named after. Instead of boycotting sport chalet, I think we should boycott this event. Come on Christian, get a clue. We don't want this kind of thing going on at a dive. You need to get a grip, change the name, and control yourselves. And ScubaBoard, you allow this here? I have just set back in the background watching this happen for a couple years now. I am going to start a one woman crusade against this event! I will contact every diver I know, and tell them to read those posts at Dive Matrix, and make a decision as to support or run you perverts off the boards. We need to take back our forums for diving. Go to the pornsites if you want adult entertainment. Leave the dive forums for what they are intended for, diving!

Sort of sad when you have to hate others for having a good time, I've personally never seen anything offensive occur at a gathering when children were present, most of the divers that attend these gatherings have families and are very aware and respectful when families are in attendance, but they still like to have a good time during the SI.

The saddest thing about the post above is that you felt it necessary to create a new id just to post this, do you truly speak for others or are you trying to justify your bashing of all the great people who attend these gatherings, by the way, I'm the one who usually does the flashing at these events, not the person these events are named after, and that flashing has always been with bikini top on never flesh....

Wow! I had to go back over there and re-read every post in that thread to make sure I had not actually missed anything.

Of course, I found nothing offensive and only some mild innuendo that would barely raise an eyebrow at Sunday morning church services.

On the other hand, you managed to use a word that is on the banned list, so it got censored.

As to your accusation that Wrinkles was flashing anyone at one of these events, it's simply not true! Had it been true, you probably would have seen at least a veiled reference to it on one of these threads. Of course, it does not exist.

These are decent events and attended by people from all walks of life including pastors and other people with religious affiliations that would keep them from attending if this were true. I have yet to ever hear anyone express concern. In fact, people bring their young children repeatedly and have never taken me or anyone else aside to discuss any inappropriate behavior.

Of course, you make this sound like a party at the Playboy Mansion. For what purpose, only you would know at this time.

I call them as I see them and your post is an obvious troll. Too many people have met me in SoCal to believe your untruths.

as a new diver I can only say that I am very glad that I found this group of divers.
freindly, helpful, paitient and fun are just a few of the attributes I have experienced.
I've only met up with them 6 times but I will be happy to join them 600 more.

I consistently recommend them to all divers i meet.

See you guys in september.

a word to the wise " don't feed the trolls"

I am curious as to why the same thread is put up on two different boards, but not as a duplicate thread. No big deal, but it just seems odd to have the same thread with different posts on two different boards when the posters seem for the most part to follow both boards.

It's for greater exposure for the event.

It's actually on more boards than just these two, but I don't have the time to deal with tracking more than these two. While some of the people that follow these threads are on both boards, not everybody is on both. Over time, you will see that the two boards will appeal to different groups of people for various reasons, but that everyone likes to dive and hang out on the SI together. Occasionally, I read about it on other regional boards in Northern and Southern Califorinia. Sometimes I hear about it going on some other board in AZ, NM, NV or even further away.

The event is about divers getting together regardless of where they find out about it or discuss it. It's open to everyone. There are some people who come to these events that aren't on any board and they hear about it via telephone or email.

Think of this as a sporting event, where people find out about it in many different ways and discuss it in many different places. Ultimately, everyone winds up at the same place having a great time.

I hope that makes sense and look forward to seeing you at one of these events sometime. It's a very friendly group and always open to people coming by to join in the fun.

Hello All,

I still look at my first oportunity to dive with your group a a highlight of my diving experience so far. I have tried without success to make it to following events :(
I am looking at this weekend & wondering if I may be able to drag my travel trailer, Wife & kids (golden retrievers) down from Purgatory for the weekend. Is there any accomodation for RVs at the La Jolla site? I would love to be there.
Please let me know what may be available in the area?
Thanks

Steve

You might want to try Campland on the Bay in Mission Bay it's not far from La Jolla.

There are a few spots that will accomodate RV's in the parking lot at Kellog Park BUT there are not hook ups there. If you want to get one, the parking lot opens at 430. If the main gate is closed the "exit" will be open and although it warns of 'severe tire damage, the spikes havent been there in over 20 years. :eyebrow:
