Pro Dive and Adrenalin dive are the same. The 3 day 2 night trip covers Wheeler Reef as wel as a day on the Yongala. Bu it takes 3 hours to get to the Yongala from Townsville.

If it’s just the Yongala you want to dive I recommend using the Yongala Express out of Ayr.

Ayr is about 100kms south and can be got there by bus.

They use a fast RHIB boat rather than a big cruiser boat, so if you are not too worried about comfort (although there is on board toilet and shade) then this is a good option as it can reach the wreck in about 40mins. 2 dives and back on land for a bar b que.

They do various trips out, and there is also accommodation over the dive shop.

All in all better value.

Here’s a link to a page on our web site about both options.

The Express is actually based in Alva Beach. This is a tiny community that is basically a fishing village. It is well-off the tourist trail, which can be either a pro/con. Best have a hard think about individual travel needs.

Diving the Yongala requires a bit of dedication and current options are pretty basic. If you have flexibility with your visit try to research prime dive periods as conditions change so much, even day-to-day.

Dive shop has accomodation and its about $22 per night. Or they can pick you up from local hostel. Better to use theirs though. More convenient, and also are good quality and friendly.

Send PM or contact us direct if you need more details, as its too much to write it all here.

Weather is fine and water still warm. No bad weather warnings and business as usual.
