DIR / DIR Curious Shore Dive Event - October 9th - Heisler (Laguna)

Oh no!!! I'm so sorry you can't make it, LeeAnne! I'm glad you'll be joining for the GUE demo day, but it definitely would have been fun to have you around on the 9th.

That said, please do let me know if you'd like to get out for a dive sometime. I would be happy to meet up for a shore dive or something, as long as our schedules work out. I have myself fairly well booked through most of October, but mostly only one day per weekend is booked, so if we try to get together for a fairly early shore dive or something, I shouldn't get myself in too much trouble

Please do post your list of questions in the Socal DIR forum, or you could feel free to PM me (or Rainer....he is a great reference and will probably be able to answer most of your questions as well). As he mentioned, there are a number of us who have taken both GUE and UTD classes, so we can offer perspective on both sides.

Thanks to everyone for all the interest! Hope everyone who's interested can make it....and if not, please do shoot me a PM and we'll try to work out a time when we can get together and do a dive elsewhere.

LeeAnne, I should be available to dive with you, as well. I often dive with many new (to me) people I meet on various boards. My schedule is clearing up a bit for more leisure dives than I've had in the past 8 weeks. I dive a lot, over 100x since January so I'm active, I'm also a UTD Diver. On weekdays I mostly dive Laguna (it's where I live) but can head out to Vets if need be, and on weekends I'll dive anywhere so long I have a buddy.

Their boat has had some major mechanical issues. Needs an overhaul to the tune of about 10 grand (not easy for a small non-profit to swallow). They think it will get done in September, but I'm not hopeful...
