What shocks me is that I'm the only one shocked by a "club" that makes money from its "members". No one is saying they can't financially benefit from all their hard work, but I guess I'll have to put it in terms that a right-wing extremist can understand: would you be shocked to find out that your church pastor, deacon, what have you, is personally making a profit when he plans a church picnic? Surely you must have religious as a right-wing extremist. Does your capitalist-only scheme allow for non-profit religion, or are you happy when the priest makes a buck and think that they should charge $50 a head for confession?
It's too bad uneducated blue-collar folks like yourself lack education, or you'd have the education enough to know what socialism really means.
My first question is how is scubaboard a club?
Number two, I hate to tell you but your pastor does make a profit off the church's activities. Unless your pastor is independently wealthy, he has to pay his bills just like you do and he does it by being paid from the profit of income minus expenses of the church picnic, the advertising in the newsletter, the donation plates... etc...
However the pastor thing is irrelevant, what I want to know is how you believe scubaboard is a club? Is your church a club? Is your work place a club? When you go to a concert is that a club? When you and 3 others go on a dive is that a club? When you go to McDonalds and stand in a line with 5 other people are you part of a club? When you stay at a hotel and there are 50 other people there are you a club?
Being the smartest guy here you should have no problem explaining this. Your dreams of believing scuba board is your personal club, have made you delusional, and now you're projecting your fantasy that the owner of your club should take money out of his pocket so you can have a cheaper vacation. Hopes and Dreams, good luck with those in 14 months, you'll get another chance at ensuring 4 more years of the worst economy since the great depression by voting for the guy in your other club who has the same beliefs as you do.
By the way, did you go to Starbucks, did you have any luck getting the 'club' manager to donate his salary so the rest of you club members there could get a cheaper cup of coffee? How'd that go over? Try explaining to him you're a member of the club there.
But beyond that, this country has been wallowing in the worst kind of socialism for decades, which is the financing of personal prosperity with public debt, and it was the Republicans who were responsible for it more than the Democrats (though they all had a hand in it). Follow the money. For example, the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq have made an elite group of Americans fabulously wealthy with money borrowed from China; it was Bush's brand of poison that did that and we are all on the hook for it. The Republicans have defined themselves as the party of the wealthy and the privileged; I don't see how anyone who considers himself middle class could possibly vote for any of them. They want government to get out of the way of the rich so that they can continue harvesting and plowing under the middle class.
