Ya... Like he said. I just finished blowing out the laneway!

Hey Stoo, I envy where you live also; at least from June to Sept. I have some very fond memories of Toby dating back to the 70's and as recent as 2010. I love diving off Toby.

Toby is a special place... great diving and topside adventures to boot. It's been very mild and un-snowy until this past week. You might recognize this place... :)

Cool photos; never saw Toby in the winter.

Hey, is that bar/restaurant in Toby that burned down up and running? I can't remember the name but it was/is a cool place.

I did two dives in Convict Springs today. Glad I did it solo, this place is small and silty, it would have been a disaster trying to dive this system with another person.

Last weekend I had a pleasant half hour in a sea side quarry where the sea has breeched the quarry walls many years ago. Vis wasent stunning and apart from hundreds of tube worms there wasn't a lot to see. But it was great to be underwater.

Sorry for the slow reply... I was in Belize...

Yes, the Crowsnest re-opened towards the end of June last year. The jury is still out as to the "flavour" of the place. I guess the "original" really wasn't replaceable, but the new place is nice... just a little "institutional". Give it a few decades and it will be fine...

Hey Stoo, I was up in Toby diving three weeks ago, no ice! Water temp 34F though. Pretty good viz and the air temp was about 15C.

Nice not to have any boat noises underwater.

And the lake level is down about a foot.

Great pics of Toby! I'll post one when I'm at a computer
Insteadof a phone

Did a dive in Ginnie Springs yesterday. Went back past the Henkle to the 4100-foot mark, and scootered (SS Minnus) down the Hillier Tunnel, etc. Got 4 hours for the dive + 2.5-hour deco for a nice 6.5-hour solo dive. Got to love these rebreathers. Of course, the trick is staying warm when not moving around on deco. Extra hood, heavy gloves I carry in my drysuit pocket, and a heated vest make it possible. Had the place to my self.

Here is Tobermory dive site at the Lighthouse Mar 11, no ice on the water.Toby mar 11.JPG

Where did I dive solo today? Same place I've been doing it for 50 years now... in the water. Specifically at the Casino Point Dive Park on Catalina yesterday!
