1) Divers who lie about their experience to get on the advanced boat and limit everyone else when they can't handle it.

2) Divers who ask you about your diving travels for the sole purpose of recounting their more exotic trip, "You know after a while, all those Caribbean sites look the same. On our last trip to Timbuktu, he had to load canoes and paddle for 3 days upriver..." Yeah, yeah.

Timbuktu-------------I thougt is in Africa

Timbuktu-------------I thougt is in Africa

It is. In Mali. And it has recently fallen into the hands of rebel forces too, making it an even weirder destination for a scuba trip.

I say this by way of thanking you for resurrecting this zombie thread. It's a good 'un!

1. Snorkel/Mask Police

2. Divers who try to rearrange my gear so I can reach the valve on a singles rig that there is no reason or need to reach the valve and most of whom learned to dive last month.

3. PadI Instructors with three actual dives attempting to babysit me. (oops, I broke the rules, but I am a rule breaker!)

N

PADI bashers, the most unsafe instructor I ever saw was NAUI, I actually rescued his student, that doesn't mean all NAUI instructors are morons

1. Rattler/shaker/horn divers- the ones that make me wonder whether I need to haul ass to help someone in trouble, or that they managed to find a moray eel all by themselves.

2. Divers who jump in the water and then start defogging their masks making us drift over the intended drop.

Pet peeve?

How about the fact I'm not allowed to taser divers who annoy me?

Man, lot of posters on here you don't see no mo'.

We haven't seen The Redhead, Do it easy, or Daniel Aleman in a while. Rick drops in for an occasional cameo appearance, which is nice. I don't think I've seen MSilvia in a while either. Who else?

I started re-reading (I'm sure I read it the first time) this thread from the beginning, and was amused by the inability of most posters to understand the simple instructions in the original post—or to even understand the title.

Some general educational philosophical definitions:

Stupid ignorant: people who don't know what they don't know, who don't recognize the gaps in their knowledge

Intelligent ignorant: people who know what they don't know, who know and acknowledge the limits of their knowledge

#1 stupid ignorants

#2 testosterone fuelled bravado that exceeds training

:rofl3: This cracks me up, because they are usually desperately waving me over to the coral head, pantomiming, in effect, "You've really got to see this!" I usually give them the "okay" sign, but that rarely placates them, so I swim over, snap my 2,002nd and 2,003rd shots of a moray eel without focusing, and continue my dive.
