That's all related to money, and that's exactly my point

Sorry, I don't share the view of unfriendly SP customer service.
I think it's one of the best actually

I disagree that it all related to money. How is performance related to money? How is allowing customers to service their own equipment related to money? Do you really believe that money is the only reason people want to do their own service?

As to the customer service, just look at the kerfuffle surrounding the PFL program - for better or worse, it is a PR and customer relations cluster.

I had not heard of hog til last Nov. since I joined Scubaboard. I had never seen a hog til my Sea of Cortez trip last week.

I was not impressed.

The Scubapro regs. on the trip performed fawlessly.

Yes, almost all of my 5000+ are on Scubapro regs. I have over a 100,000 diver/hours of clients diving Scubapro with me.

If there was a better reg., don't you think I would be using it.

As far as credibility, please take a closer look at # of dives listed on each of our profiles.

Dive more, post less.

What does the number of dives have to do with anything? You dive Scubapro because you sell Scubapro plain and simple. Scubapros are no better and could be worse than Apeks.

Just for fun, I did a 500 mile search from my zip code. I found two ( 2 ) hog dealers.

One in Montana & one in Nebraska.

In Colorado alone we have 9 Scubapro dealers. No hog.
Scuba pro also fixes price. But, does that make them better or just more expensive?

I am a bit bummed out that you did not go diving with the humboldt squid. BTW what is a Speam Whale?
We were very Bummed that we did not dive with any Humbolt Squid. The Speam Whale is a distant relative to the Seaman Whale.

Ah, I get it.

Just like Scubapro = 50 years > Hog = 5 years, your greater number of dives means you automatically have more credibility IN SPITE OF your unabashed bias and cheerleading, and IN SPITE OF the fact that you have not even tried the product in question.

Got it.

I bow to your superiority.

tracydr, there are two hog dealers in AZ.

Do you know anything about them?

... Scubapros are no better and could be worse than Apeks...

Would you care to elaborate on this?

Accepted!
Not so fast bucko. . .

From the ScubaPro web site:
The SCUBAPRO Platinum Dealer Program recognizes and rewards participating U.S. dive centers that choose to represent SCUBAPRO exclusively, carry the entire line of SCUBAPRO products, and meet other minimum criteria.

'Nuf Said. . .

I actually bought mine from Jim Lapenta. I really like the HOG company and regs. I researched them a lot and the company seems very diver friendly. The LDS I use is not a HOG dealer although it's listed as one of the dealers. Or, if they are, they have nothing in stock. The other one is fairly far from me so I don't know. My husband will be servicing mine. I much prefer that my life support equipment be serviced by somebody that really cares about me. ( not to mention, is more meticulous about mechanics and engineering than anybody I've ever seen)
